2022 Texas Independence Day

Texas Independence Day Gallery

On March 2, 1836, fifty-nine Texian delegates signed the Texas Declaration of Independence at Washington on the Brazos, officially declaring independence from Mexico and creating the Republic of Texas.

On March 2, 2010, the law firm of West Short & Howell, PLLC, began what would become an annual tradition of celebrating the day that Texas became a Republic in the spacious back yard of its office in Georgetown, Texas. Clients, elected officials, lawyers, friends, family and sometimes even opponents, join us for this annual event, where we listen to Spanish flamenco guitar music, and serve the finest Mexican food, including fajitas, margaritas, Mexican beer, and Mexican wine.

Some pictures taken at the 2022 celebration are below.
